Deshaun Watson is Too Inconsistent to Ever Be an NFL Star

Carolina Panthers v Houston Texans

Ben Maller: “Houston continues to show that they are a PRETENDER… Deshaun Watson was horrible against the Panthers, and this continues to be the story of this guy’s career. What is the most important thing that separates the true greats for everyone else? CONSISTENCY. And this guy is not a consistent performer. There are tremendous peaks and tremendous valleys for him and last weekend was the Valley of Death. That inconsistency is going to be the undoing of the Texans. You never know which guy is going to show up.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Ben Maller explain why he’s not on the Deshaun Watson bandwagon, as the Texans were arguably the most disappointing team of Week 4 after throwing up an airball to the Cam Newton-less Carolina Panthers.

Despite Kyle Allen throwing for zero touchdowns and losing three fumbles, the Texans offense could only score 10 points at home.

Maller says this was simply a classic example of the enormous inconsistency of the third-year starter Watson, who lit up the Saints and Chargers in Weeks 1 and 3, but had duds in Week 2 and 4 versus Jacksonville and Carolina.

Check out the audio below as Maller calls Houston a ‘pretender’ and says that Watson too inconsistent of a player to ever really be a superstar in the NFL.
