Doug isn’t a fan of the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing match and thinks it’s an indictment of the sport of boxing. We have a former champion fighting a Youtube star who is literally less than half his age and the rules have been adjusted (only 8 rounds only 2 minutes each) making it considerably shorter than a typical prize fight, yet it is the most eagerly anticipated fight of the year. If this is the most exciting match boxing has to offer, the sport is in real trouble.
Doug Gottlieb: “You have a senior citizen, former heavyweight champion going against a Youtube star...he’s a late-to-the-sport boxer, I guess. If this is the best we can do for the fight or match of the year, the sport’s a mess.”
