Minnesota Vikings rookie QB JJ McCarthy needs knee surgery which should cement veteran Sam Darnold as the starter for the season opener. Doug has always been a fan of Darnold and hopes he can take this opportunity to prove his worth in the NFL. This is the best chance he’ll ever have to resurrect his career and if he struggles, he may never get another one.
