NFL Announces How Many Fans Will Be Allowed to Attend Tampa Super Bowl

Super Bowl XLIII

When Super Bowl LV kicks off on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, there will be 22,000 fans in attendance. The National Football League plans to honor healthcare workers during the game and will give them 7,500 free tickets.

"These dedicated health care workers continue to put their own lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our ongoing gratitude, we hope in a small way that this initiative will inspire our country and recognize these true American heroes. This is also an opportunity to promote the importance of vaccination and appropriate health practices, including wearing masks in public settings," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said.

The NFL said that fans will be required to wear masks and will be seated in socially distanced pods throughout the stadium. The league said there will be touchless in-stadium experiences at concessions, restrooms, and security checkpoints.

The teams who will play in the Super Bowl will be decided this Sunday. The defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, will host the Buffalo Bills while Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers try to become the first team to play in the Super Bowl at their home stadium as they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers.
