McALLEN - The number of Valley teams qualifying for the State 7-on-7 football tournament in College Station later this month doubled when three more schools grabbed invitations on Saturday. In McAllen, Rio Hondo qualified for the first time in school history. Hidalgo will return to the Texas A&M campus for the first time since 2015. And in Corpus Christi, Weslaco defeated PSJA in the Calallen qualifier semi-final. The Panthers have also qualified. The tournament will be contested at the end of the month.
